How to Clean With the Bissell Proheat 12 Amp Carpet Cleaner

Owning a carpet cleaner allows you to deep clean your carpet whenever necessary without having to pay for a professional cleaning or rent a carpet cleaner. The Bissell Proheat 12 amp carpet cleaner is the same approximate size as a standard vacuum cleaner and it is almost as easy to use. While your carpet will be nearly dry after cleaning with the Bissell Proheat due to it's powerful suction, you should still plan to stay off the carpet for an hour or so to give it time to dry completely.

Step One
Vacuum the carpet throughly with a dry vacuum cleaner to remove as much dirt and dust from the floor as possible.

Step Two
Remove the water tank from the carpet cleaner and fill it with warm water to the fill line on the side of the tank.

Step Three
Place the water tank back on your Bissell carpet cleaner.

Step Four
Remove the formula tank from the carpet cleaner and fill it with warm water to the lowest fill line on the tank.

Step Five
Pour Bissell cleaning forumula into the tank until the water and formula level reaches the upper fill line.

Step Six
Place the formula tank back on the carpet cleaner.

Step Seven
Select the appropriate setting on the dial located on the back of the carpet cleaner. The light setting is appropriate for mildly dirty carpet while extremely dirt carpet requires the heavy traffic setting.

Step Eight
Plug the carpet cleaner in and turn it on. Wait a minute to give the machine time to warm up before you begin cleaning.

Step Nine
Move the carpet cleaner back and forth across your floor slowly, as if you were vacuuming the floor. Press the trigger underneath the handle occasionally to release the cleaning formula onto the floor.

Step Ten
Empty and rinse the water and formula tanks when you finish cleaning.

Step Eleven
Fill the water and formula tanks with warm water and return them to the carpet cleaner.

Step Twelve
Repeat step nine to rinse your carpet and remove as much of the carpet cleaning formula as possible.
